7 Intriguing Cloud Services at Cloud Expo 2011

Sponsored by tech heavyweights Dell, Abiquo, Oracle and other vendors, this year's Cloud Expo had over 7,000 delegates, and over 200 sponsors and exhibits. Attendance has grown steadily every year since Cloud Expo was announced on February 24, 2007, the same day the term "cloud computing" was coined, incidentally. Sys-Con, the organizers of Cloud Expo, expects that by 2012, more than 50,000 delegates per year will participate in Cloud Expo worldwide.
Cloud Expo attracts technology industry heavyweights as well. This year's opening keynote address was given by Steve Schuckenbrock, president of Dell Services. There were also CEOs, executives and industry experts giving round-the clock presentations and holding lively, informative general and breakout sessions on topics such as "Your Cloud, Your Way"? What Burger King Taught Us About Cloud" and "Cloud Migrations – Getting Existing Apps into the Cloud."
Products demonstrated included cloud storage, security, analytics, and even hardware used to deploy cloud solutions. While demos of the latest cloud offerings from some of the biggest technology vendors like Dell and VMware made the case that businesses are very interested in the cloud and moving applications off-premise, some of the most interesting solutions came from companies that may not be so familiar. Here are seven of some of the most intriguing and innovative cloud solutions from the expo.
